Bios

Short bio

Jane Willan is a New England pastor and the author of the Sister Agatha and Father Selwyn mysteries, set at a Welsh abbey where the nuns make prize-winning cheese and occasionally find a body. She lives in Connecticut with her husband, a dog, and a cat.

Longer bio

Jane Willan is a minister by profession and a mystery writer by inclination. She is the author of the Sister Agatha and Father Selwyn mysteries — The Shadow of Death, The Hour of Death, Abide With Me, and The Beekeeper’s Last Confession — set at Gwenafwy Abbey in Wales. Publishers Weekly praised her “loving and witty portrayal of convent life in rural Wales.”

She is also the author of Widow’s Walk (Sibylline Press), a novel of a Downeast Maine church community facing a hurricane, and The Christmas Camel Caper (Guideposts), and she writes books for young readers. Her essays have appeared at Jane Friedman’s site and Career Authors.

Jane grew up in Ohio and now lives in Connecticut with her husband, Don, Ollie the dog, and Winnie the cat. She has always found church committees excellent preparation for writing mysteries.
